NAR Letter to Senators Wyden and Grassley Regarding Yellen Nomination Endorsement

On January 19 NAR sent a letter to Chairman Wyden, Ranking Member Grassley, and the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance. The letter expresses NAR’s enthusiastic support for the nomination of Janet Yellen as Secretary of the United States Department of Treasury. Ms. Yellen is both a known quantity and a highly experienced nominee. NAR believes that Ms. Yellen’s reputation as a dove on interest rates bodes well for a housing market that has been a rare bright spot in a struggling economy while expanding the benefits of homeownership more broadly amongst the America’s diverse communities. Ms. Yellen’s vast experience and her pioneering history make her particularly well suited to manage the government response in these historic times.
