NAR Written Comments to the House Ways and Means Committee Hearing on "The Need to Make Permanent the Trump Tax Cuts for Working Families”

Issue Date: January 14, 2025

House Committee on Ways and Means

These written comments are for a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on the need to make permanent the tax cuts for working families enacted by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) of 2017, which are commonly referred to as the “Trump Tax Cuts.” NAR urges the Committee to make permanent key tax-reduction provisions in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act that have been vital to the growth of the economy, the creation of new jobs, and the well-being of millions of American households over the past seven years. In particular, NAR supports the permanence of the lower income tax rates, the permanent extension of the 20 percent qualified business income deduction, and the renewal and expansion of Opportunity Zones.
