NAR letter to Representatives Nikema Williams and Lizzie Fletcher endorsing the HEIRS Act of 2024 (H.R.8127) and the HEIR ACT of 2024 (H.R.8117). The HEIRS Act incentivizes states to adopt the Uniform Partition of Heirs Property Act (UPHPA) and allocates resources to help heirs' property owners establish and document property rights, while the HEIR Act helps heirs' property owners receive CDBG disaster recovery assistance. These two bills will protect property rights, facilitate the highest and best use of the land, and help close the racial wealth gap.
