NAR Letter to Chair Brown and Ranking Member Toomey Regarding Housing Committee's Separate and Unequal Housing Discrimination Hearing

Issue Date: April 20, 2021

On March 20 NAR sent a letter to Chairman Brown, Ranking Member Toomey, and the members on the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs.

The letter thanks the Committee for holding the important April 13th hearing entitled, “Separate and Unequal: The Legacy of Racial Discrimination in Housing.” NAR is committed to confronting the legacy of historic discrimination that has created systemic barriers to homeownership for generations of Americans. In the 117th Congress, NAR will continue working with the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs to ensure strong fair housing enforcement and advance policy reforms to close the racial homeownership gap.
