Coalition Letter to House and Senate Leadership Regarding NFIP Lapse

On November 15, 2018 NAR as part of a Banking, Real Estate, and Insurance Industry coalition sent a letter to House and Senate leadership. The letter urges Congress to take immediate action to avoid a lapse in the NFIP before the program's expiration on November 30, 2018. The NFIP is the main source of flood insurance in the United States and Americans deserve certainty and stability in the flood insurance marketplace to be able to protect their homes and loved ones. A lapse of the NFIP will leave millions of Americans at risk and cause disruption in the over 20,000 communities across the country that depend on the program.
