NAR Support Letter to Full House Regarding S 2155 Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act

Issue Date: May 21, 2018

US S 2155 - The Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act

On May 21, 2018 NAR sent a letter to the full House. The letter expresses NAR’s support for S. 2155, the “Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief and Consumer Protection Act.” The bipartisan legislation includes several provisions that are positive steps for our nation’s housing sector. The legislation removes many undue regulatory burdens for community banks and credit unions that impede access to affordable credit for consumers and businesses. In addition, S. 2155 proposes a critically important framework requiring Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to evaluate and consider credit innovations including alternative credit scores.
