NAR Coalition Letter on 3DEP to Senate Appropriations committee on Interior

On March 22, NAR co-signed a flood map coalition letter to Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Udall of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies. The letter expresses support for the U.S. Geological Survey's (USGS) 3D Elevation Program (3DEP). The USGS is the lead agency involved in collecting high resolution (“LiDAR”) data that FEMA uses to improve mapping accuracy. The letter asks Chairman Murkowski and Ranking Member Udal to support the USGS's recommendation to provide $146 million to 3DEP.
