On October 28, 2016 NAR sent a letter to the Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) in response to a second round of proposed changes to the Real Property Appraisers Qualification Criteria. We received input from the Real Property Valuation Committee and state in this letter:
· Agreement with the AQBs suggestions to reduce the degree requirement for licensed residential and certified residential appraisers;
· A request for allowing prior work experience to count toward the degree requirement for Certified General Appraisers;
· Agreement with the AQB suggestion to remove time limits on obtaining experience hours; and
· Disagreement with reducing the experience hours requirement for all appraiser classifications.
