NAR Letter to Senate Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs Committee Regarding NFIP Technical Mapping Hearing

On September 12, 2016 NAR sent a letter to the Chair and Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing & Urban Affairs Committee and cc’ing the entire committee.
NAR believes that Accurate flood mapping is the cornerstone of a strong NFIP, and a top priority for NAR members. The letter identifies several shorter term opportunities that could strengthen the program. The letter also offers recommendations in order to provide some interim relief from inaccurate NFIP rate increases and also to help Congress gather necessary data which could be help inform decision making over the next year.
