On July 18, 2016 NAR sent a letter to the Appraisal Subcommittee (ASC) in response to their request for comment on the calculation of Appraisal Management Company (AMC) annual registry fees. NAR supportsthe “Third Option” proposed for the interpretation of the phrase “working for or contracting with” when determining the number of appraisers considered in calculation of the AMC registry fee, which only considers appraisers that have performed an appraisal for the AMC during the reporting period. NAR Is also asking that any fees not be passed down to the appraiser.
