NAR Letter of Support to Representative Waters Regarding Credit Reporting Bill

On July 8, 2016 NAR sent a letter to Representative Waters. The letter thanks the Representative for her efforts to responsibly expand access to mortgage credit by introducing the “Comprehensive Consumer Credit Reporting Act of 2016.” A borrower’s credit report is a critical access factor when trying to enter the housing market. Yet, nearly 10 million Americans have errors serious enough to result in them being denied credit or paying more for mortgages. This legislation takes an important step towards making homeownership a reality for hardworking and responsible Americans.
