On April 24, 2015 NAR Sent a letter to Administrator Craig Fugate of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). In the letter NAR recommends Lisa Sharrard for the Flood Insurance Advocate. Ms. Sharrard was referred to NAR as an independent, expert consultant who successfully advocated for REALTOR® members and their clients with the Write-Your-Own (WYO) rate quote companies. Ms. Sherrard was the the NFIP coordinator for South Carolina from 1994-2010, so she understood the insurance side of NFIP as well as its flood mapping, community compliance, and mitigation programs.
