On April 24, 2015 NAR Submitted comments to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding its proposed rule on operating unmanned aerial vehicles (UAS) for commercial purposes within the national air space. We were generally supportive of the rules, as they permit commercial use of this technology with minimal regulatory burden on the operators. The areas where we asked for more information had mostly to do with notice to bystanders (1), and (2) beyond visual line of sight operations which is where the operator loses visual contact with the machine IE: over a tall building or on property with large acreage.
