NAR mits Principles for the Establishment of the Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate to FEMA

Issue Date: October 30, 2014

On October 30, 2014, NAR submitted to FEMA a set of Principles for the establishment of the Office of the Flood Insurance Advocate (Principles). The Principles were submitted to David L. Miller, FEMA's Associate Administrator of the Federal Insurance and Mitigation Administration (FIMA), and reflect the need for balance in the Advocate’s office among the competing activities of education, outreach, mitigation and policy holder assistance with its responsibility to investigate and guarantee the appropriate use of its rate tables and guidelines.
